Jon started his working career as a Field Service Technician in Tunbridge Wells repairing electronic typewriters, printers and computers. Then progressed into I.T. Technician to Engineer then Management, many many years in increasingly desk-based jobs followed.
Realising that the challenge he faced in keeping his new Toyota GT86 clean and shiny was a challenge shared by others, he took a leap of faith and started his own west-Kent detailing and valeting service, MERAKI detailing.
MERAKI detailing brings together Jon’s talent for hands-on problem solving, his belief in providing outstanding customer service and his life-long passion for cars. From his first ride in his uncle’s Caterham aged 8, until the day he first repaired a stone-chip by himself, all this means that Jon will take as much pride in caring for your car as you would yourself.
Now a fully trained Technician, Jon’s mobile detailing and valeting service takes him all over the Weald-of-Kent and Tunbridge Wells areas. With detailing clients in Penshurst, Speldhurst and surrounding villages, Jon says the best thing about his job is seeing the end-result, clients positive reaction to the work that has been performed and when a client gives him free rein to do what is needed to transform their car into a better than expected condition and his hard work pays off.
In short it is a modern Greek word not directly translatable to English but it means "to do something with passion, with absolute devotion, with undivided attention.", which summed up perfectly to me what I believe my flavour of detailing is about.
